Samsung likely to launch a wireless charger alongside Galaxy S9, S9+ on Feb 25

Samsung has confirmed to launch the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ on February 25, a day ahead of MWC 2018. A new report now suggests that the South Korean smartphone manufacturer got a lot more plans in stock alongside launching the flagship phones of the year. It seems, the smartphone manufacturer is gearing up to also bring a new wireless Samsung charger alongside the two flagship phones — Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. Ahead of the official announcement, the complete user manual of the upcoming wireless charger by Samsung has leaked online, revealing almost all the key details about the charger.

The leaked user manual called the EP-N5100 was leaked on Monday and notes that the upcoming Samsung wireless charger will come with fast charging support of up to 9V/1.67A, 9V/2A or 12V/2.1A. It further suggests that the charger pad will come with two charging coils. However, the leaked user manual reveals that only one of two charging coils of the new pad can be used to charge a device at a time.

It is noteworthy — as the user manual suggests — design-wise the upcoming charging pad may not differ much compared to the existing one. However, we may see the upcoming standing pad come with a USB-C support on the back side for the power input. Then there will be the fan — which will also be placed on the back side – basically to dissipate the heating from all the Qi charging. The upcoming wireless charger by Samsung is said to work on the Qi wireless charging standard, suggests the leaked the user manual.

The upcoming wireless charger may also include an indicator light with various modes for better access — out of which — the red light will mean that the device is charging, while green will indicate that the device is fully charged, lastly, the flashing light means there’s an error in plug-in.

Alongside the information regarding the wireless charger, covers and cases of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ have also been leaked online. Although the covers don’t reveal much information about the smartphones, what it re-confirms are the dual rear cameras for the S9+, while suggests that the S9 may include a single camera setup at the back. Reports further suggest that the protective accessories will reportedly include Hyperknit and Alcantara cases as well as a protective standing cover with MIL-STD-810G compatibility.
